The tribes of Germania, having lost territory in my reconquest, are slowly regaining power by making large kingdoms in Eastern Europe. The Romano British are fighting a stalemate with the Celts and Saxons. The Sassanids are tearing down the Eastern Romans. I have new conquests to look to soon, though. I had reforged the empire to stretch from Gaul to Greece. In my campaign I managed to stop both the huns and goths, the two main hordes in the ERE. However, the ERE was crumbling, and Greece had already fallen, so I turned my veteran armies onto taking the barbarian infested lands of the Eastern Empire. The playable factions represent key powers within the Greco-Roman, Barbarian, and Eastern cultures, and each offers a notably different and deeper form of gameplay experience from those in previous Total War games. However, after building up a sizeable army and a decent alliance with the Romano-British, I began to reclaim my lands, exterminating any province with too many pagans inhabiting them. The last two being playable factions for Rome remastered. Imo I think Dacia, Numidia, western Rome, Romano-british, and the Ostrogoths offer the hardest campaigns. I’ve never had trouble with the Seleucids or the berbers. Being a somewhat seasoned total war player I was up to the challenge. I find Scythia to be a very easy faction to play as because the horse archer, If used correctly, is very OP. Update: I decided to play the WRE on M/M.
